If you’re a regular St Mary’s shopper you will have seen the displays in all of our shop windows…promoting Dying Matters Awareness Week.
Maybe walking by you’ve wondered what it all means…I know I’ve had questions from a few volunteers here in Barrow…the window displays have helped start conversations we don’t normally have and made people think, which is great.
If you want to know more you can pop into any of our shops and pick up a leaflet…find out what you can do today.

Anyone who shops with St Mary’s Hospice may have had a little chuckle…or raised an eyebrow as they checked out our cheeky window displays this week!
There is of course a serious message behind the lighthearted displays…we want to show our support and help raise awareness of testicular cancer…the signs and symptoms.
“Drop your pants” is a joined up campaign between 8 North West hospices…the idea behind the campaign is to highlight testicular cancer and the symptoms to look out for and at the same time encourage men to donate and shop with us.
If you want to support the ‘Drop Your Pants’ campaign you can drop off your clothes donations at any St Mary’s Hospice shops.
The shops have all looked pretty in pink this week as we helped advertise the launch of this year’s Walk To Remember.

Not long now…Millom St Mary’s Hospice Shop reopens on Thursday 8th March…it’s so exciting!

Here’s a sneak preview…
…sorry I must have got my camera angle all wrong!!!
I was at our Millom Shop again on Friday…Wow what a difference!
It looks fantastic!
It won’t be long until it reopens…but until then would you like to see a picture?
Here’s a quick glance through the window…
I didn’t realise Windolene was so difficult to see through…sorry! Oh well you’ll just have to come along when we re-open!
Our Millom Shop is currently closed…exciting news…it is having a refit!!
The end of last week was spent stripping it out ready for the refitting…it’s amazing how different a shop looks when it is empty of everything familiar!
It was great to see so many volunteers lending a hand to get it done.
I popped through yesterday and work was already well under way…new stud walls up…paintwork being prepared for painting…I can’t wait to see how it looks next time I’m there!
