Happy Valentine’s Day…today and for the previous 13 days we have been sharing the love for St Mary’s Hospice.
I’d like to thank everybody who has participated and shared their thoughts and feelings…it’s been really special reading them all.
Hearing the reasons behind why people support…shop…donate to the hospice…why they give up so much of their own time to volunteer for the hospice…why they use the hospice services has been a real honour.
Everyone’s story is different…but they all have one think in common…they demonstrate how essential the hospice is…how needed…how valuable…but most of all…how LOVED the hospice is by the community it serves.
St Mary’s Hospice was a haven for my beloved husband who recently died there.
I am passionate about hospice care and think that St Mary’s Hospice is a great place to work.
Otis is 9 years old, couple of years ago my wife found a Facebook page about hospice dogs. We thought Otis could help, he’s been doing it 17 months now and we both love it…it’s a very happy positive experience, we love it.
I’ve been volunteering 25 years in day care mostly, I get as much out of it as the patients do and the care that they get in the groups is great, lovely atmosphere, a good laugh, plenty of entertainment and a good cup of tea.
Seeing other people, been coming to the group every fortnight- a nice opportunity to get out and see other people – other people that also have health problems.
